Little Troopers

"Oh, he's such a good baby. Sleeps right through the night too! But I'll tell you this for nothing, the creche facilities on this Death Star are rubbish! I'll be having a word with that nasty Emperor the next time i see him. Dont you worry!"

Note: I found the little pram (with toy bunny seen in another Stormie pic) at a car boot sale at the local primary school. To avoid trying to explain what a 35 year old guy wanted with a wee plastic pram, i asked my mum to go buy it for me. Best 5p i ever spent, lol

If You Go Down To The Woods Today...

You're in for a big surprise!

A Stormie tries to blend in, much to the confusion of the bears.

Market Day

It had been another bumper crop down at the Stormie Ranch, and they decided to enter 'Biggest Fruit/Veg' competition at the local market.

Notes: This picture came about after buying a pack of vine tomatoes in the reduced section of the local shop (just 10p!!!!). Anyway, I was challenged to see who could come up with the best shot using the tomatoes. This was my attempt!

Tourists

"Eh, I'm guessing you guys aren't from round these parts? Anyway, you'll love Glasgow you'll fit in well. The place is full of loons! Just watch out for the pigeons!"

The Stormies get some tourist tips from a Council worker in Glasgow's George Square.

Note: Shot in the early afternoon in George Square, Glasgow. This is right in the heart of the city centre and normally teaming with passing shoppers and workers. It Was actually busier than it looks from the shots, but attracted (thankfully) very little attention!

The Search

"Oh, come on, Private Cooper! You've been at this for over an hour and you've still not found anything. Are you sure this is where you lost the plans for the Death Star?"

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

'Don't know about you, baby, but i've got the horn!'

Even in the Death Star, the Empire has its problems with the workforce!

Troopers Night Out

"Valentines weekend and where do you take me? A bloody Star Trek film? Huh!!!"

Yep, even Stormtroopers get it wrong sometimes!

(Location: Cinema within Glasgow's Museum of Transport)

Note: Yes, there were other people in the cinema. Just to the side of the troopers in fact, and oblivious to it all!

The Return of the Art Lovers

Stormie 1: B-B-B-B....
Stormie 2: Don't do it! Don't do i....
Stormie 1: BOOBIES!!!!
Stormie 2: You did it! Just can't take you anywhere!!!

(Location: Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum, Glasgow)

Note: Another visit to the Art Galleries for the Stormies, but this time on a much quieter day in a dark corner, lol. The base for this statue stands just about a foot off the ground, so it involved a bit of lying on the ground with the neck at an uncomfortable angle! Oh, what we do for a bit of fun!

The Art Lovers

The Imperial Army take some time out for a romantic visit to Kelvingrove...

(location: Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum, Glasgow)

Notes: One of the first adventures for the Troopers, and one that proved a bit of a giggle to set up. The art gallery was quite busy and setting up two Stormtroopers holding hands in front of one of the most popular exhibits in the gallery didn't quite go un-noticed! As a small crowd gathered around me to see what i was up to, and after being asked if i was setting up an installation for the gallery, i thought it was a good idea to make a retreat before the staff dicided to check out what all the fuss was about!

Expanding the Stormtrooper Universe...

While the first three Trooper shots whetted my creative juices, they were only really only portraits while exploring my kitchen worktop (who needs a big expensive studio, eh?). But you know what the Empire's like. Its all want, want, want with them. So the little guys have decided that they want to explore the 'big bad world' that lies outside the safety of the kitchen worktop...

Some shots are simply set up in other areas of the house, but since the Stormies like to hide in my jacket pocket, they have turned up in all sorts of places. Galleries, museums... Next time you see a guy on his knees with his bum in the air and a Nikon glued to his face, take a closer look. At what i'm shooting, not my bum! Huh!

Setting up "The Return of The Art Lovers" - Note the disapproving look from the statue

A Long Time Ago...

...Well, not that long ago, actually.

Welcome to The Secret Lives of Stormtroopers, a record of the lives and adventures of my Lego Stormtroopers. Go with them as they visit all sorts of locations. Relive the fear as they discover the dangers of the 'Big Bad World'. Discover just what its like to be just another clone...

A collection of works by landscape and wildlife (ahem!) photographer Paul Cook. More work, of the non Stormtrooper type, can be seen on Flickr
